In this tutorial we will show you how to set up Joomla(2.5 or 3.0 and up) in Dreamweaver CS6 so that you may edit the CSS of your layout while still making good use of Dreamweaver’s great productivity tools. One warning before we proceed though, Whilst working with Joomla in Dreamweaver CS6 do not edit any of the core Joomla files. This goes for all of Joomla’s PHP and CSS files. Only work with the CSS files directly assosciated with the template you are working on. If it isn’t a CSS file you should probably not be using Dreamweaver for this task. If you touch anything else the risks of you breaking something are significant.

A Gravatar is an image that once loaded up to a central site will follow you from site to site and every time you post a comment on someone’s blog or other site this image will appear beside your name. The central site that holds all these images is usually gravatar.com. Continue reading

In this tutorial we will show you how to take a HTML template you have created and convert it into a Joomla template. We will be using Dreamweaver CS5.5 for our conversion but any version of Dreamweaver will suffice or any text editor will do the job just as well. To do this tutorial you should have already created a HTML mock-up of your website in Dreamweaver and filled it with lorem ipsum etc to create the look and feel. We will be taking that test content out and replacing it the code needed to convert your HTML to a Joomla 1.6 template.
